New year, new old house. Renovating this 1960’s bayfront home.
First job was the worst: The crawlspace stayed wet year-round due to the low elevation of the neighborhood and proximity to water on both sides of the house.
We added 30 tons of fill to raise the grade and then insulated and encapsulated the crawlspace. It’s now clean, dry, and energy efficient.
The foundation is being blasted to expose the original CMU’s.
Next step, windows and doors with lots of rot repair.
